Sono quelli di Alessia Vigilia e Virginia Bortoli gli ultimi due nomi che andranno a comporre la rosa della Top Girls Fassa Bortolo versione 2022, aggiungendosi così alle già annunciate Palazzi e Tonetti e alle sei confermate di questa stagione.

Alessia Vigilia, passista classe 1999, sarà al suo quinto anno nella categoria e si tratta quindi di un’innesto di esperienza. La bolzanina, che nelle ultime due stagioni ha indossato la maglia della spagnola Women Cycling Team, ha ottenuto un 10° posto nella Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa 2019, ma i suoi risultati più importanti risalgono alla categoria juniores, quando è stata capace di vincere un Campionato Italiano a cronometro e di terminare al secondo posto sia i Campionati Europei che i Campionati Mondiali, sempre nella prova contro il tempo.

Virginia Bortoli, classe 2003 proveniente dal Team Breganze Millenium, in questa stagione ha ottenuto un secondo posto a Carmignano, un quarto posto al Giro delle Marche e due quinti a Civitanova e a Tarzo, a cui si aggiungono altre quattro top-10. La Bortoli farà il suo debutto nella categoria Elite.

Lucio Rigato, team manager della Top Girls: “Con l’arrivo di Alessia e Virginia la nostra squadra è al completo. Siamo molto contenti di essere riusciti a portare nel nostro gruppo queste due ragazze che andranno a rafforzare sia il reparto più esperto che quello più giovane, a dimostrazione ulteriore che abbiamo puntato ad avere una squadra molto equilibrata. Alessia, nello specifico, è ancora giovane ma già esperta  in quanto ha militato in squadre straniere e questa sua esperienza sarà molto importante per la crescita dell’intero gruppo. Da lei ci aspettiamo quindi un apporto importante. Virginia sarà al primo anno nella categoria e la sua priorità fino a giugno sarà la scuola: fino all’ultimo giorno a noi preme che lei si impegni su quel fronte, nostro compito sarà invece quello di farla crescere senza troppe pressioni”.

Alessia Vigilia: “Dopo due anni all’estero ho preferito tornare in Italia e ho trovato nella Fassa Bortolo la squadra ideale per me. Sono ancora giovane, ma credo di poter portare anche molta esperienza all’interno del gruppo, dato che negli ultimi quattro anni ho partecipato a gare di alto livello. Sento di avere ancora molto da dare e credo questo sia l’ambiente giusto per me per poter dimostrare il mio valore, ma voglio anche condividere la mia esperienza con le mie nuove compagne e aiutarle a crescere, specie quelle più giovani”.

Virginia Bortoli: “Per debuttare nella categoria elite non potevo chiedere di meglio che vestire la maglia della Top Girls. Sono molto emozionata per questa opportunità e darò il massimo ogni volta che salirò in bici. La squadra mi ha chiesto di concentrarmi primariamente sulla scuola, spiegandomi che hanno sempre lavorato così con le giovani atlete. Ho piena fiducia nello staff e cercherò quindi di seguire tutti i consigli che mi verranno dati, perché so che mi aiuteranno a cresce nel migliore dei modi”.

VIGLIA AND BORTOLI TO COMPLETE THE 2022 ROSTER

Alessia Vigilia and Virginia Bortoli are the last two names that will make up the squad of the Top Girls Fassa Bortolo version 2022, thus joining the already announced Palazzi and Tonetti and the six confirmed from this season.

Alessia Vigilia, born in 1999, will be in her fifth year in the category and it is therefore a graft of experience. The Bolzanina, who in the last two seasons has worn the shirt of the Spanish “Women Cycling Team”, obtained a 10th place in the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa 2019, but her most important results go back to the junior category, when she was able to win a Italian Championship individual time trial and to finish in second place both the European Championships and the World Championships, always in the individual time trial.

Virginia Bortoli, born in 2003 coming from Breganze Millenium Team, this season obtained a second place in Carmignano, a fourth place in the Giro delle Marche and two fifths in Civitanova and Tarzo, in addition to four other top-10s. Bortoli will make her debut in the Elite category.

Lucio Rigato, Top Girls team manager: “With the arrival of Alessia and Virginia, our team is complete. We are very happy to be able to bring these two girls into our group who will strengthen both the more experienced and the younger sides, further demonstrating that we have aimed to have a very balanced team. Specifically, Alessia is still young but already an expert as she has already played in foreign teams and her experience will be very important for the growth of the entire group. We therefore expect an important contribution from her. Virginia will be in her first year in the category and her priority until June will be school: until the last day we want her to commit herself to that front, our task will be to make her grow without too much pressure “.

Alessia Vigilia: “After two years abroad I preferred to return to Italy and I found the ideal team for me in Fassa Bortolo. I am still young, but I think I can also bring a lot of experience to the group, as I have participated in top-level races in the last four years. I feel I still have a lot to give and I think this is the right environment for me to be able to demonstrate my value, but I also want to share my experience with my new teammates and help them grow, especially the younger ones “.

Virginia Bortoli: “To make my debut in the elite category, I couldn’t ask for anything better than to wear the Top Girls jersey. I am very excited for this opportunity and will give my best every time I get on the bike. The team asked me to focus primarily on the school, explaining that they have always worked like this with young athletes. I have full confidence in the staff and will therefore try to follow all the advice that will be given to me, because I know that they will help me growing in the best possible way “.
