La Top Girls Fassa Bortolo annuncia i primi due rinforzi per la stagione 2022: si tratta di Cristina Tonetti e Alice Palazzi, entrambe classe 2002 e quindi al secondo anno nella categoria Elite.

Cristina Tonetti, lombarda proveniente dal Team VO2 Pink, in questa stagione ha svolto un’attività prevalentemente nazionale, ottenendo una vittoria per distacco a Bianconese di Fontevivo e un secondo posto a Monselice. Ma a risaltare sono anche i numerosi risultati ottenuti nei due anni da junior, in cui spiccano tre vittorie.

Alice Palazzi, pesarese proveniente dal Team Born to Win, ha già partecipato in questa stagione al Giro d’Italia riuscendo a portarlo a termine nonostante si trattasse del debutto nella categoria. Inoltre, da menzionare il terzo posto nella prima tappa del Giro delle Marche, gara in cui ha ottenuto anche quinto posto nella seconda tappa e nella classifica generale. La Palazzi aveva però stupito tutti già nel 2020, quando da junior è riuscita ad ottenere il settimo posto nella seconda tappa del Giro delle Marche, risultando come unica junior a rimanere nel gruppo di testa insieme a sette Elite.

Lucio Rigato, team manager della Top Girls: “Cristina ed Alice sono le prime due ragazze che abbiamo il piacere di aggiungere al nostro gruppo. Si tratta di due atlete giovani, che però hanno già dimostrato le loro qualità atletiche e riteniamo che, grazie anche alle loro qualità umane, possano inserirsi molto bene nella nostra squadra. Entrambe hanno finito la scuola e quindi potremo lavorare in maniera ottimale fin da subito, con l’obiettivo di farle crescere ancora. Siamo felici che abbiano creduto nella nostra società e abbiano sposato la nostra filosofia”.

Cristina Tonetti: “Sono veramente contenta di avere la possibilità di vestire la storica maglia della Top Girls. Ritengo sia una squadra in cui posso imparare molto e sono sicura che tutto ciò che riuscirò ad apprendere sarà utile per crescere come ciclista e come persona. Non vedo l’ora di cominciare la nuova stagione ed incontrare le mie nuove compagne!”.

Alice Palazzi: “Si può dire che correre con la Top Girls era un mio piccolo sogno, e sono davvero onorata di fare finalmente parte di questo gruppo. Di questa squadra mi ha sempre colpito la filosofia e il modo di lavorare, sicuramente darò il massimo per imparare e migliorare. Nonostante io abbia già partecipato a corse di un certo spessore, sarò una delle più giovani componenti della squadra, pertanto cercherò di far tesoro di ogni consiglio che mi daranno le mie compagne più esperte”.

TONETTI AND PALAZZI ARE THE FIRST TWO ADDS TO 2022 SQUAD

Team Top Girls Fassa Bortolo announces the first two reinforcements for the 2022 season, Cristina Tonetti and Alice Palazzi, both born in 2002 and therefore in their second year in the Elite category.

Cristina Tonetti, a Lombard from the VO2 Pink Team, this season has carried out a mainly national activity, obtaining a victory by detachment in Bianconese di Fontevivo and a second place in Monselice. But what stands out are also the numerous results obtained in the two years as a junior, in which three victories stand out.

Alice Palazzi, from Pesaro from Team Born to Win, has already participated in the Giro d’Italia this season, managing to complete it despite being her debut in the category. Also worth mentioning is the third place in the first stage of the Giro delle Marche, a race in which she also obtained fifth place in the second stage and in the general classification. However, Palazzi had already surprised everyone in 2020, when she as a junior managed to get seventh place in the second stage of the Giro delle Marche, resulting as the only junior to remain in the leading group along with seven Elite.

Lucio Rigato, Top Girls team manager: “Cristina and Alice are the first two girls we have the pleasure to add into our group. They are two young athletes, who have already shown their athletic qualities and we believe that, thanks also to their human qualities, they can fit very well into our team. Both have finished school and therefore we will be able to work optimally right away, with the aim of making them grow further. We are happy that they believed in our company and embraced our philosophy ”.

Cristina Tonetti: “I’m really happy to have the opportunity to wear the historic jersey of Team Top Girls. I think it’s a team where I can learn a lot and I’m sure that everything I can learn will be useful to grow as a cyclist and as a person. I can’t wait to start the new season and meet my new companions! “.

Alice Palazzi: “It can be said that racing with Top Girls was a little dream of mine, and I am truly honored to finally be part of this group. I have always been struck by the philosophy and the way of working of this team, I will certainly give my best to learn and improve. Although I have already participated in some important races, I will be one of the youngest members of the team, so I will try to take advantage of any advice that my more experienced companions will give me ”.
